Rebecca, once again you help us understand what is at stake here in northern Utah. I am very wary of this proposed project for the reasons you mention. The loss of valuable wildlife, lifestyle, ecology, tradition, etc. Additionally, I I understand it will be military data center, which, without sounding paranoid, puts us in added danger for targeting by enemy states. Am I wrong?
On another matter, your violin solo at the AFC concert was phenomenal. Your control and ease with arpeggios ON THE VIOLIN and the harmonics took my breath away. You are much admired as a musician and a thinker/writer. Thank you
As always, thank you for reading, caring, and, especially, the solidarity. And thank you also for your kind words about the Fratres performance. It was a joy to have that opportunity to make music with and for my community! I wish I'd known you were there - I look forward to connecting in person someday soon. Maybe I'll see you at the meeting on Monday?
Once again you describe what sounds like environmental disaster being mandatory for humanity to survive, becoming culturally accepted as the absurdity it is. You've embraced elegance, and descriptive grace as you present a confluence of variables lost with this industrial proposal.
She’s a hero to me and a great influence on my thinking! One degree of separation on several fronts now, and I hope to meet her one day. I see her in the lineage of Wallace Stegner and Edward Abbey carrying forward an essential, soulful understanding of the intermountain west.
I don’t live anywhere near you, but the struggle and pain of defending your natural spaces is real. I love her writing and her dedication, and yours too! Carry on. You are supported by people farther away than your own community. Ontario, in case you are interested.
I like to think of us as fireflies creating a net of points of light all over the world. And that net supports all of us even if we aren’t aware of it. We had a local success near me recently. A group of environmental organizations banded together to purchase a property that had been sold to developers by our local council. A sensitive area beside a river in a World Heritage Site.
Another beautiful piece!
This article is activism with no fear, and tears with a punch in the heart. Keep up the fight Rebecca
Coming from one of the most fearless writers on this platform, your words just melted me. Thank you for reading and "getting" it all.

As always, so well said. I dream of a world where living creatures ( us included) are put before profit.
I know you dream of that. You also live it.

Thank you, John. I so appreciate that you take the time to connect after reading these essays.
I do love your writing style. This is so well done.
Thank you for reading, Becky!
Do you know Terry Tempest Williams? I believe she lives in your general area. Writer, environmentalist, activist.

I am interested! And thank you for the solidarity. We are all in this together - near and far.
